I would like to point you to a new publication, the Palgrave International Handbook on Mixed Racial and Ethnic Classification, edited by Peter Aspinall and Zarine Rocha, who did a greeat job. Guno Jones and I wrote a chapter on the Netherlands. Laura Odasso on Belgium; it also contains chapters on countries outside Europe. I am very happy to announce that JEMS has just published a Special Issue of which I am the co-editor, entitled:

Re-constructing Ways of Belonging: Cross-country Experiences of Multiethnic and Multiracial People

I believe that this SI makes an important contribution to the field, and hope that it will reach as many readers as possible. The collection has nine contributions plus the Introduction written by the three guest editors. The nine articles address the diverse experiences of the identification, socializing and mainstreaming of multiethnic and multiracial individuals in different national contexts around the world: United Kingdom, Sweden, Ireland, Spain, Canada, the United States, Japan, Singapore, and Israel. All the contributions are empirically based and use a variety of research methods, making the volume both cross-disciplinary as well as cross-national.
