<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US">With great interest we have intensively worked through the available information about
<span style="color:black">“Music360”</span>, as the influence of (background) music is of outstanding importance to us as a collecting society.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US">Our main objective within GEMA is to lay appropriate foundations for the future of the company and to think innovatively.

</span><span lang="EN" style="color:black;mso-fareast-language:DE">we have been in the process of conducting a multi-stage scientific “<b>Music Impact Study</b>”, that examines the effect of background music on sales at the point of sale.</span><span lang="EN" style="font-size:13.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:black;background:white">
</span><span lang="EN-US" style="color:black">The underlying idea is that a concrete and quantifiable proof of the economic value
</span><span lang="EN-US">of music will help to get a fair compensation for the artists.

<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US" style="color:black">Our “Music Impact Study” consists of several phases to get a 360-degree view of the topic. The centerpiece is a large-scale empirical study with 150 participants from the retail and gastronomy sector.
</span><span lang="EN-US">We are currently in the middle of a pre-test, collecting data with a small number of participants<span style="color:black">,</span> and we are recruiting participants for the large study.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
